There are two Netaji Subhas Open University or NSOU Study centre in Behala, one at Behala College at Parnasree, and the other one at the Vivekananda College for Women. Behala College was established in 1963 as a grants-in-aid State Government sponsored college, and Netaji Subhas Open University Behala College Study Centre was established in 1998. The college at Rabindra Palli, Parnasree Pally is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. Behala College came under the pay packet scheme of the Govt. of West Bengal in the late seventies.
