Aryabhatta Knowledge University, a public university, was established in 2008 for professional education in the district of Patna in Bihar. AKU Patna is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been established by the Govt. of Bihar (by Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri Nitish Kumar). Aryabhatta Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ACNN) is the first research centre established by AKU, that offers M.Sc, M.Tech and Ph.D reaearch programme in Nano Science and Technology.
